Hello SLOBC Members,

WOW! Here it is March, 2017. Where has the time gone? I hope you are keeping dry
with all this gorgeous rain we are having.

In February, we had our annual Crab Feed. What a turnout that was! I would like to thank our Sangha members, families and non members who helped make our fundraiser a success. Without the help of all the volunteers, we would not be able to raise money to keep our church so beautiful. We have two more major fundraisers, our next one being the Golf Tournament on May 20th. We are reaching out now to our members and friends to sign up and to give their time and energy to this event.

Beginning March 2, I will be attending the BCA National Council Meeting in San Jose with Tom Nishikawa. It will be an interesting meeting because the council will be discussing upcoming changes and will be presenting options that temples/churches may vote on. At our board meeting on March 1, we will be reviewing these options and we will be voting the option that will be suitable for everyone at our church. If you are interested, you are more than welcome to join us at the board meeting.

On October 14, 2017, Saturday, we will be celebrating SLOBC’s 90th Anniversary. This is going to be a big job. If you are interested in helping or have any ideas, please come to our 90th Anniversary Committee meeting on April 2, Sunday after service.
