You should have been there! The 90th Anniversary/Keiro Kai celebration was a huge success! There were over 75 people in attendance, including Bishop and Mrs. Kodo Umezu, Rinban and Mrs. Ken Fujimoto (from San Jose Betsuin), Rev. and Mrs. Doei Fujii (from Denver, CO), Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Makishima (from Mountain View Buddhist Temple), and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Krieger, along with our honored Keiro members. We enjoyed delicious bento lunches provided by Goshi Restaurant, beautiful decorations spearheaded and provided by Julie Conaway, wonderful entertainment by Ichimi Daiko and Ho'opili Pomaikai, hard work provided by many SLOBC and SLOBWA members, and many, many, other people involved in putting together a most wonderful celebration. Thank you all for your dedication and donations!

Gary and I attended a Coast District Buddhist Women's League (CDBWL) meeting at Mountain View Buddhist Temple. There are seven churches in the Coast District and each year a conference is hosted by a rotation of the churches. Because SLOBWA and Guadalupe BWA are smaller and farther away from the other five churches, there is ongoing discussion about how we can be involved in the conference rotation as well as the Board of the CDBWL. More information is to come on this issue.

Rev. Nakano and I attended the Federation of Buddhist Women's Association Representatives meeting in Fresno as a prelude to the 45th Federation meeting next September to be held in Visalia. One valuable benefit of attending these meeetings is that I am getting to know more people involved in the BCA and the Buddhist Women's Associations of the different churches. It is inspiring to meet such dedicated women from different backgrounds who want the BWA to succeed and continue to grow.
