BWA President's Message: August 27, 2010 Home.. ..Newsletter |
How is everyone? I know we've all been a little busy since Obon and I needed a break as Poly prepares for closing down summer session and gearing up for opening. I'd like to schedule our next general BWA meeting for September 11th, 10am at the Temple. I'll figure out something for lunch following our meeting. |

We talked about a chow mein dinner in October, would anyone like to spearhead and be chairman? I know nothing about making a large quantity of chow mein. I would appreciate your thoughts and availability of time. Thank you! Obon is our biggest event of the year and it wouldn't be possible without all the behind the scene preparations by the key organizers. Special thanks to the chairmen, members, family, and friends who made it all "happen" again to the delight of the entire community. We couldn't do it without you! Our members help share a tradition to honor and express gratitude to the spirits of our ancestors who provided us with the figt of life with an exceptionally delicious chicken dinner, food, and craft booths, demonstration, performances, displays, and beautiful kimono clad dancers. The festival leaves a lasting impression with all who are fortunate in this wonderful day. Thank you again for all your right effort to carry on and share the important traditions of Obon.
