Installation Dinner: New Temple & BWA Presidents


The Installation Dinner held on January 13th witnessed the new leaders of SLO Buddhist Sangha. The dinner started at 6PM with the introduction of new temple members, a short meeting, installation service by our Temple minister, and dinner. About 50 people gathered for the dinner which ended a bit after 8PM.

Since the Temple plans to celebrate its 85th Anniversary in 2012, many things are waiting to be done such as: Bon-Dance and Food Festival at the Temple, improving temple facilities and property, and social and religious programs. Your understanding and support will be greatly appreciated in order to make our Sangha attractive and meaningful.

Crab Feed Ended With Good Results
Our annual crab feed was held on Saturday, January 23rd, and as usual, it was a great success. About 330 tickets were sold and many donations supported this event. The Temple and Sangha appreciate the many helpers and supporters for their donations and contributions.
The committee worried about the weather for the day. A few days of heavy rain and strong winds knocked down eight (8) trees on the temple property. The storm, however, just stopped on Friday, January 22nd and we enjoyed a beautiful blue sky for the day of the crab feed.

Rummage Sale

We are planning to have our first rummage sale of 2010 this coming March. Please save all your valuable (and not quite so valuable) treasures and bring them to the temple, or call me to arrange for pick up (704-3211). Thank you very much for your help, and please remember, every little bit helps our temple!
